Is your group looking for something fun to do? Then look no further! This unique and awesome culinary experience is an absolute must! Come hungry as this tour includes a five-course sit down curated tasting of small plates where each dish features a River Whey Creamery cheese led by owner Susan Rigg whose enthusiasm is infectious! The menu is always different and fabulous! You’ll even get to see the room where the cheeses are made, hear all about the process, tour the facilities including the caves where the cheeses are aged, and have a chance to purchase the cheeses and local accoutrements with a 10% discount. Don’t forget to bring your favorite beverage of choice to enjoy throughout the tour.

I ran across an add for a cheese tour out of Gruene and decided to look into it more. Spur of the moment I decided to register my husband and I. WHAT A FIND! Teresa, the energetic and charming owner of the tour service, provided a short ride to the River Whey Cheese Company. Once there we were greeted by Susan Rigg, owner and head cheese master, full of stories and cheese info. I expected small cheese tastings. What I got was beautifully presented plates of cheese, fruit, veggies, and even a small roast beef slider, all prepared to show off 5 of Susan’s cheeses. Tom, a business partner, prepares the food pairings. Both Susan and Tom are graduates of culinary school, and not only know cheesemaking but really tasty ways to show it off. I’d recommend this hidden gem to everyone.

This tour of the “River Whey Creamery” was just delightful!!!! Teresa, our hostess is a joy to be around!!! So much fun and alive with enthusiasm!! Susan, the owner of the Creamery, is so incredibly knowledgeable about her craft! I could’ve listened for hours AND the cheeses are delicious!!!

If you love cheese this is a must!! Not only were the cheeses to die for but I also learned so much about the process of making cheese! Susan, the creamery owner, is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I can’t wait to host my next gathering with the cheeses I purchased from her today! Teresa, our hostess, is so full of energy the moment you step on to the bus you feel so welcomed into the group! Looking forward to our next At Your Service Tour!!
